Tired. Unmotivated. Questioning Everything? Me Too.

Chasing quiet, not numbers.
Sometimes the best reset is just lacing up and heading out.

A Note for the Ones Who’ve Been Running on Empty

If you live in a mountain town, you know the rhythm.
Summer hits, and we go. Long days, busy work schedules, trail runs, lake laps, bikes, beers, late nights, early mornings.

Or maybe this summer was the opposite. Maybe you meant to do more, move more, get strong, get out there… but it just didn’t happen. You blinked and it was August. You’re tired. Still sore. Still unsure.

Wherever you land, there’s a good chance you’re feeling it now:
That weird end-of-summer fog, when your body is a little beat up, your routine’s a mess, and winter is already whispering in your ear: “Will you be ready?”

The Truth? I’ve Been Asking Myself That Too.

Even as a coach, someone who lives and breathes this work, I’ve caught myself questioning everything lately.

I’ve been doing a lot.
Running a business. Coaching clients. Lifting. Parenting. Planning travel.
Trying to keep it all going without losing momentum.

But lately, I’ve been feeling… off.
Heavy. Foggy. Disconnected from the why.
Doing all the right things, but wondering why they didn’t feel right.

And it hit me like a rock to the shin:
I’d been pushing so hard that I forgot to check in on what I actually needed.

If You’ve Been Feeling “Off,” You’re Not Alone.

Maybe your body feels tight and overused.
Maybe your energy’s fried from high-season hours.
Maybe you’re planning a winter of riding, skiing, skinning, sending, and wondering how the hell you’re going to get strong in time when you’re already wiped.

And maybe, like me, you’ve been so busy trying to keep up that you haven’t paused to ask:

What would actually feel good right now?
What kind of strength do I want to carry into winter, not just in my body, but in my mind and nervous system?

Here’s What I’m Reminding Myself Right Now:

You don’t have to “earn” rest.
Recovery isn’t a reward, it’s the part that makes the work work.

You don’t have to hustle to be healthy.
Intensity is not a prerequisite for progress.

You don’t have to be in “winter shape” yet.
You can build slowly. And joyfully. You can prep without punishment.

You can take care of your body without trying to fix it.
There is no perfect version of you waiting on the other side of a 6-week sprint. There’s just you, more resourced, more connected, and more clear.

Locals Summer Is Here. Let’s Use It.

This is our window.

That short stretch of time between the chaos of peak season and the first big snow, when the trails are quieter, the evenings are cooler, and the energy starts to shift.

This is your time to check in.
To slow down. To ask your body what it needs.
To reconnect with the things that fill your cup, not drain it.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. Or perfect.
It might just be walking without your phone. Sleeping in. Stretching. Strength training. Cleaning up your meals. Saying “No”. Moving with intention.

But whatever it is, it should serve you.

Not your ego.
Not your schedule.
Not the voice in your head that says you’re already behind.

If no one has told you lately:
You don’t need to prove your worth through mileage or muscle.
You don’t need to punish yourself into motivation.

You just need to come back to yourself.
Again and again. Gently. Honestly. On purpose.

I’m doing it too.

With love, grit, and slow-building strength,
Coach Christine
